Mission and Vision

Our mission is prevention. We seek to communicate the importance of healthy brain development and strong families. By increasing adult capability, we will reduce vulnerability for children and families and improve life outcomes. Specifically, we want to increase adult awareness about adverse childhood experiences (ACE) and their negative impact on child development, hopefully leading to a reduction in children’s exposure to ACE’s. This in turn will improve population health, reduce crime, and increase educational attainment, ultimately improving wealth and happiness in our society (Moffitt e al., PNAS 2011).

After participating in the proposed program, the adults in the community will have the knowledge, skills and ability to provide nurturing, supportive environments that positively impact the early years of child development.
